Stanley Accommodation

The Stanley Hotel

Stanley is a gorgeous little fishing village in the north west of Tasmania, with it’s main geological feature being a ‘Nut’.

We rode through town (that didn’t take longer than 60 seconds) and came back to the beautifully restored 1840 Stanley hotel.

We got 3 double rooms again – all with a double bed on the bottom, with a single up the top.

$85 for 2 guests in an ensuite room
$65 for 2 guests with a shared bathroom
$45 for 1 guest with a shared bathroom

A double room with a shared bathroom was fine for us – except for Birdman’s snoring!

The room was a little small, but it had a nice view across the town, a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities.

The service from reception (the lady in the Gift Shop at the front of the hotel) was what we’d come to expect – very friendly with no fuss.

Award Winning Bistro

They have an excellent, award winning bistro (that was very busy on the night we were there – a Tuesday), along with a Gift Shop and an excellent public bar with couches, fires, juke box and pool tables.

In fact, may I add, this very same pool table enabled me and Birdman to stay at the Stanley Hotel after thrashing Poss & Crazy Mad Doc for the tariff!

It’s a very professionally run hotel, with a thoroughly modern team looking after you very well for a low rate.

A delightful hotel.
