Accommodation Hobart Waterfront

Quest Waterfront

We arrived in Hobart quite late on the Friday night (May 8th) – around 6.30 – and I pulled up at the Telegraph Hotel in the wharf area to see if they had any accommodation.

The helpful bouncer pointed us across the road to The Quest Waterfront, an apartment type building at 3 Brooke St.

There was a young guy at Reception and he was the sort of guy we love in these positions.

We told him there was 6 of us, all single guys, that we all had motorbikes to garage, etc.

This guy was great – all he did was find solutions for every single issue/problem we had.

(Riley and Birdman are ex-resort managers from the Gold Coast and wanted to hire this guy for themselves. That was until I pointed out to those guys they sold their resort. Idiots!)

He Even Moved His Own Car!

“Okay, we have great family rooms that sleep 3 – 1 double bed and 2 singles – for $150 a night.

One of the family rooms doesn’t come with a spot in the car park – wait here and I’ll move my car onto the street and you can have my spot so you’ll be able to fit all the bikes in, etc, etc,” he said.

You know when the Reception guy moves his own car so you can have his spot is when you’re on a winner!

$50 A Night Each

So for $50 a night each we were smack bang in the middle of the Hobart waterfront, with a secure garage for the bikes and the apartments were great:

  • spacious
  • perfectly clean
  • modern

A 4-star apartment at a bargain price, with great staff who look after you and ensure all your needs are met.

Being right in the wharf area – a minute walk to Salamanca, 30 second walk to the river cruises and more – this was the pick of the places we’d stayed in in Tasmania.
